Known to be a much hotter type of Thai pepper, the Thai Scorpion is a unique hybrid between the Thai pepper and the unrelenting Trinidad Scorpion pepper, once renowned as the hottest pepper in the world.
Pepper plants grow well in containers and can reach heights up to 3 ft. tall. Expect these plants to produce high yields of Thai Scorpion peppers that are shaped like little pendants, growing to 6” long and ripening from their dark green color to their smooth and glossy red color. Peppers grow in upright clusters that look like little umbrellas, so it protects the plant itself from harmful UV rays. You’ll want to keep an eye on these plants as they may need staking for added support.
Thai Scorpions have a bite to them! But once you get past that, you’ll enjoy the classic Thai pepper fruitiness that’s incredibly useful in Asian cuisines and other spicy dishes. Dry these peppers up into a nice chili powder or into pepper flakes for added spice to any food you like!
