They get their common name from the dense fuzzy rust-colored hairs that cover the leaf stalks, stems, & forking branches that look like antlers, or stag’s horns. The flowers turn into beautiful very fuzzy, hairy red berries in the fall, & they will stay on the bush through the winter.
