60 days. Said to have originated by German settlers of the Dutch Fork section of South Carolina, only 60 miles from our offices. Runs only about 3 ft., so staking is not required. Halfway between bush beans and pole beans, half runners can be used as a snap, shell or dry bean. Particularly popular in the South, but early enough to be enjoyed in the North. Tender pods, 4 to 4 ½-in. long, have wonderful sweet, beany flavor. High yielding if regularly picked. White seeded.
