NuMex Chili Pepper Seeds
from $2.25
NuMex Chili Peppers were developed by the Chili Pepper Institute at NMSU. Like most NuMex varieties, they are bred to create pepper plants that are easier to maintain and perform well in most gardens.
These chili peppers are pendant-shaped that almost look identical to Christmas lights. The pods will grow to be 2" long and point upward on the plant, with medium-thick walls and smooth, glossy skin. You'll see these peppers change colors from green to reddish brown when they reach maturity (we recommend harvesting at the mature color to really get the best flavor possible).
The NuMex Chili Peppers are incredibly versatile to use in the kitchen, as well! With mild heat and incredibly sweet and spicy flavor, these peppers work great used in fresh foods or dried into chili powder! They are great for roasting and grilling, or if you're really hungry, pop some into your mouth for a quick snack with mild heat! Add this flavorful NuMux pepper to your growing list.

NuMex College Pepper Seeds
from $2.25
The NuMex College 64L pepper is another variety pumped out of New Mexico State University that has a shape similar to Anaheim peppers and a heat level comparable to the Jalapeno pepper.
Expect these peppers to grow up to 3 ft. tall and produce good yields of these teardrop-shaped pods that expand up to 5” in length. Easy to grow, Numex College peppers start out growing as a bright green pod and mature to its spicy red color.
Using Numex College peppers depends on when you harvest them. Their heat levels and flavors are contingent on this, as well. When green, these peppers have less heat and spice, making them useful in fresh foods and cooking in mild dishes. However, when red, the heat and spice increase and they make for wonderful chili powders, ristras, and are fantastic for roasting.

Between its jaw-dropping pastel colors and a strong tolerance for heat, drought, wind, and rain – it’s no wonder NuMex Easter was a 2014 All-America Award Winner! Developed out of the NMSU Chili Pepper Institute, this ornamental variety is one you'll want to grow in your garden!

NuMex Joe E Parker Pepper Seeds

NuMex Suave Orange Pepper Seeds
from $5.25
The NuMex Suave Orange pepper is another low-heat Habanero variety emerging from the Chili Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University. While having milder heat, the Suave Orange pepper retains the same fruity flavors and aromas as other Habanero peppers.
Expect these pepper plants to reach 4 ft. tall, with some plants reaching higher when planted directly into the ground. These plants are strong and hold up against its prolific yields of 2.5” long, lantern-shaped peppers. Pods grow upright and appear more wrinkled than other strains. Watch these Suave Orange peppers ripen from a green to a sparkling yellow-orange.
You’ll get the same signature Habanero flavor with each pepper – fruity, citrusy, tropical – but with very little heat involved. This enticing combination makes for a very versatile pepper that can be added to many fresh foods or used in cooking. You won’t forget the entrancing aroma of these Suave Orange peppers.

NuMex Twilight Pepper Seeds
from $3.25
It’s time to stop dreaming and get your hands on the colorful, eye-catching, gorgeous NuMex Twilight pepper! This was created at New Mexico State University and is a hybrid of the Thai ornamental pepper, but with less heat and more beauty.
The ornamental NuMex Twilight pepper plant produces beautiful, tiny pods that reach 1" in length. These tiny bulbs have smooth skin and mature like a rainbow, aging from purple to yellow, orange, then finally red. These are one of the prettiest plants that you’ll grow when colors are shifting, so why grow flowers when you can grow these peppers instead?
At a heat level of 30,000-50,000 SHUs, these peppers are similar to Cayenne and Tabasco peppers’ heat levels. You can grow this variety to decorate your windowsill, balcony, patio, or garden! The Numex Twilight peppers are said to be a saltier, bitter taste, but these aren’t really made to be for tasting as the flavors are less than admirable.

*Non-Isolated - Disclaimer: While some of our varieties marked non-isolated were isolated when grown, they are an unstable pepper seed variety that may produce plants with genetic variations, making them less predictable and consistent in terms of traits such as flavor, size, and heat level. While this can lead to unique and exciting variations, it's important to note that these seeds may not reliably reproduce the same characteristics from one generation to the next. Planting non-isolated/unstable pepper seeds can be an adventurous gardening experience, but be prepared for some degree of variability in the resulting pepper plants. We will not be able to offer replacements for variation in traits.
