The Vorlon Tomato, named after the Vorlon race from the television show Babylon 5, is a cross between a Cherokee Purple and Pruden’s Purple Tomato that was first discovered by grower Joe Fisher in his garden in Main back in 1998. Since then, these dark red heirloom beauties have become such a delight to grow in gardens across the country and around the world!
The tomato plants can get as tall as 6 ft. but typically stretch up to an average of 4 ft. tall. Watch as they produce these 5" long Vorlon tomatoes that have surprisingly greenish shoulders as they ripen. Cut through the thin skin of these fruits, and you'll notice dark red flesh filled with juicy sweetness on the inside!
These tomatoes will look gorgeous in your summer salads and in all your favorite fresh meals!
This is an indeterminate tomato variety.
